Leo was sent to me by his mother, who had nothing but snapshots of her 18-year-old son. The idea behind the session is for the images to be used mainly for personal use, but also possibly included in a portfolio for modelling work. This session was fun and quick, taken in the laneway behind our shop, and lit mainly with available light from the sun. I could have done it in the studio, but this outdoor session suited both his personality and my own mood at the time. Teenagers can be hard to shoot, but I can see it through their eyes ...parents may want to see them smiling, but they want to project an attitude. Fun piece of trivia: none of the clothes that the client brought to the shoot were suitable for the images I saw in my mind, so I lent him one of my own shirts. Good luck, Leo! Best regards, Joshua Winterson.
