Hello, I’m Joshua Winterson, professional portrait photographer, and Dtales is my studio. This is my personal diary, where I share with you my latest pictures, talk a little bit about how the images are constructed and designed, and relate the stories behind them.

I’ve been creating beautiful images of people for eight years, and I’ve shot hundreds of weddings and portrait projects -- in my beloved hometown of Melbourne, interstate, and internationally. My most recent wedding was at Flemington racecourse, home of the Melbourne Cup. Superb day -- the glorious setting was bathed in rare winter sunshine, and cried out for something special. I knew it had to be a panorama. Do you love wedding panoramas? Tell me what you think. I'll post more images from this wonderful wedding as soon as I get some more spare time! Thanks Carl -- I think it was worth the trouble it took to make. It's done by digitally stitching 5 separate vertical shots (taken on a tripod) together in the computer to create the illusion of one seemless shot. The benefit is that the picture can be blown up to decorate a wall, yet still retain rich and clear detail. The final effect can't be properly done with one shot in a digital camera. This doesn't suit every wedding, but here it seemed to be an absolute necessity.

I love this shot! It shows peace and simplicity, which also define true love. Panoramic photography uses specialized equipment or software, that captures images with elongated fields of view. It is sometimes known as wide format photography.
